Uplifting Aromatherapy

The season is changing from fall to winter and the weather outside is getting colder by the day. I do not like the cold and darkness of winter and it affects my mood dramatically. Every year around this time I start to feel down. I can not stand the freezing darkness morning or evening long and sad and dark and I start dreaming about next summer's so far away.

I know that winter will end soon, it is only 3 months after all, but I have the patience to wait and pray desperately for a glimmer of sunlight through the winter sky. How am I going to last until spring? The answer is in my trusted aromatherapy kit containing all the smells and memories of summer.

Within this plain wooden box is a magical world smells and memories that transport to remote beaches and tropical coasts.

The family of citrus essential oils contain some wonderful oils for encourage my mood. Vibrant lemon, grapefruit and oranges stimulate the body and mind and lift me to distant lands, rest under the shade of a tropical fruit tree.

Rose and lavender essential oil brings me back to my youth, frolicking among the flowers in the sun. The wonderful smells and colors envelop my whole being.

Some of my favorite techniques for aromatherapy winter months are shown below:

I find it incredible hard to get up in the mornings dark winter, so look for essential oils that stimulate both my body and mind. I found citrus-based soaps ideal essential oil for the task and created my own aromatherapy soap specifically for this task. Made with grapefruit, the essential oils of lemon and orange, the soap is exciting, vibrant and packages energizing a blow, no one awakening from a deep winter sleep. My morning shower is transformed into a tropical shower under the sky and I'm excited for the day.

My daily commute is made easier with eucalyptus oil. A couple of drops on a handkerchief that a great refreshing and stimulating tonic at any time during the whole trip.

Aromatherapy air fresheners are used throughout the office, usually citrus or floral aromas float through the air to raise my status of mind. simple techniques using my favorite essential oils usually see me through the day happy and energetic.

Unfortunately aromatherapy not enough to ward off the evils of stress related to work and come home grumpy and irritable, and I need another hit aromatherapy box.

Need a relaxing bath with my favorite oils. I have a bath, adding four to five drops of lavender essential oil. In this sometimes add a few drops of essential oil rose or citrus oil depending on my mood. The bath usually does the trick and chills me out for the rest of the night.

Before bed sometimes I bathe in lavender and chamomile essential oil. This is an excellent and relaxing bath really helps me sleep.

These are a couple of my favorite ways of use of aromatherapy and essential oils in my daily life, especially during the long winter months and depressing at times.

Try using these techniques to lift your mood or modify to suit your own life. Aromatherapy is a wonderful way to relax and joy and find your own techniques and oils favorite as they gain more experience with aromatherapy.
